Gable, in court in Los Angeles in the case being brought against Mrs. Violet Wells Norton, a 47-year-old Englishwoman who is charged with using the mails to defraud. She accused Gable of having been the father of her 14-year-old daughter Gwendolin, despite the fact that Gable has proved that at the time he was supposed to have been in England he was working in Oregon.
